Preamp with Variable Loudness Control & Remote Control

I am looking for suggestions for a decent preamp that has variable loudness smiler to the older Mac's and Yamaha's. The on/off button does not work for me. Remote control is a must as well. Not much out there these days. I will consider legacy.

I'm not sure what happened to the Luxman (I think it was Luxman) posting but they were a bit higher in the price range. I really like the Quad. I hope the tilt function will suffice as a mock loudness. I will be ordering one soon. Thanks for all the replies.
