I have owned the Pav/pdsd and the AVP, not version 2. They are probably equal in quality, but the PDSD has identical "top notch available" dacs for all channels. AVP user interface is better.
Proceed PAV/PDSD v. AVP-2
I have a Proceed PAV/PDSD combination that I use with Proceed Amp 2 and Amp 3 to drive a pair of KEF 104/2s, a KEF 200 C center channel, and KEF 102/2 surrounds. A Velodyne HGS-15 handles the LFE. I'm very pleased with the sound of this system for both music and movies. It puts up a broad sound stage with precise imaging, and the sub integrates seamlessly with the other speakers.
Nevertheless, I suspect the DACs in the AVP-2 may be superior to those in the PDSD, and the AVP-2 may include other features that are of advantage -- a single chassis for one.
Has anyone out there compared the two, and would it be worthwhile to move from the PAV/PDSD to the AVP-2?
