Question for Behringer DEQ2496 gurus

I have a DEQ2496 between my Mac Mini and Parasound ZDAC (using two optical cables). I want to noodle with the pink noise, but I am not hearing any when I activate it. The I/O menus are a bit confusing at times. Do I need to connect an analog output from the DEQ to hear the pink noise or should it just output to the ZDAC via the toslink connection? Thanks.

Thanks much for the response and the links. I am not in front of the unit, but will check the I/O settings when I get home.

It will work in all digital. Did you make sure that the i/o selects optical for both? I have it and have had no problems with this.
