The Shunyata does not have surge protection ( it is in the Defender module). The Furutech is a good unit, but comes with an awful power cord, so if you get rid of that and use something decent, it would be a good unit to use. The Dectet WILL soften/damped/restrict dynamics, but I don't really know much about the Iso-Tek - sorry. Good luck!
