REL vs JL AUDIO

Who makes the best subwoofer for music? REL or JL AUDIO? REL uses High level, JL AUDIO low level with EQ. Which will be better for music.

I have not had an opportunity to own the REL sub however I have maintained Velodyne DD18's as well as the JL Audio Fathom F212 V2.  The JL is a much quicker response sub due to the smaller driver however the DD18 is no slouch.  Both excellent subs that I have incorporated in two seperate systems however I sway towards the JL.  Using the JL with a pair of JBL Array 1400's which blend perfectly.

Surely the difference in response time (if there is any) would be so insignificant to make it irrelevant. Maybe be so with antiquated drivers.

I’m currently stacking 3 on each side for a total of 6 JL Audio Fathom 110’s.  All I can say is wow!!! I’m glad I swung in this direction.  I want to say thanks to the JL Audio Team that supported me in this process.  JL Audio customer service is unmatched and I dare challenge any other subwoofer company that will take the time to help in the process.

Thanks JL Audio

I want to put my experience on the record. Just like nearly everyone said, JL Audio has serious quality control issues. I bought two brand new Fathom F112v2 subs. Setup included measurements, miniDSP, professionally installed, etc. Already had 2 subs that were perfect but was hoping for something more.

One F112 had a broken voice coil on arrival. Just buzzing around 40Hz. They did not integrate well and ruined the sound of my system. Needless to say they are gone. I was so appreciative of my dealer for standing behind their recommendation and making it right. I strongly recommended against JL Audio in every possible way.

Any experience with other brands, such as Martin Logan vs. Rythmik vs. Velodyne vs. SVS?
