Rowland Power amp

Looking at the ol model 5 to replace a tube unit. i heard this amp years ago on wilson Watt/puppys, was the best sound i heard blew my Ksa250 B&w 801*2 combo away.
Wondering how the rowland #5 stacks up against newer amps like mccormack ect. Please.
