SACD/CD player update

i have invested on analog for a long time. From vinyl to Reel to Reel, VPI turn table to tube preamp. But sometime i looked at my shelf, there are still over hundreds of SACD and red book CD over there. also some Hi-def in my hard drive. I only have an Oppo 105 to play them. I wonder if it worth to invest on a better player. Thinking about Esoteric, but i never do  A-B comparison and don't know how much i can gain. I'd like to hear some advice. Thank you.

Try to audition a PS Audio DirectStream Memory Player. I was a Beta tester for this item and honestly have to tell you that I am hearing things from my CD's and SACD's that I never knew were on the discs. Highly recommended.

First, I have to add my endorsement to Dan Wright and his Modwright upgrades.  I own the Modwright/Sony XA5400ES and it's one of the very best SACD I've heard at any price - better, IMHO, than the megabucks dcs 'stack'.  (XA5400ES Unit + mods = $3,500).

For CDs only, I use the EAR Acute (Mk. 3) by Tim d'Paravicini. It's magic!Easily the best (and least 'digital sounding') disc player I've heard.

Judge with your own ears (always), but that's my 2-cents.

@aalenik   A Big +1 for Dan Wrights work with disc spinners.  Listening right now to the excellent Starship Troopers soundtrack on my Modwright Marantz 8005.  Huge ball of sound with sweeping dynamics.  Music has life!

I just upgraded to a Esoteric K-05X. It is definately not thin sounding. Full, Robust and detailed. I am sure their more expensive models are even better.
