SF Amati Homage in white maple

I have been semi-seriously watching for a pair of the white maple Amati's to show up in the classifieds. While perusing through expired on-line ads, I have seen mentioned that few Amati's were ever made or imported to the U.S. in the white maple finish. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Also, I would initially be pairing the Amati's with a pair of Herron M1A amps and matching 3A preamp. The system would be in a lively 600 sq ft area. Desired listening levels would be low to moderate. Any input as to what kind of performance this pairing may offer?
