Sonic Frontiers SFCD1 upgrade vs Bryson BCD-1 cdp

I have a stock version of the Sonic Frontiers SFCD1 cd player.Anyone who did the upgrage know if this upgrade for the Sonic Frontiers SFCD1 to 'SE' status make this unit as good sounding as say compared to buying a newer cdp like the Bryston BCD-1 or Rega Saturn? Or do you recommend just putting the money in a new player? Any comparisons will be much appreciated.
