Sound quality of new vinyl recordings.

I would like to get back to vinyl. I have not heard any new vinyl yet but I question the sound quality and I hope someone can help as I have not yet found the answer to my question. Are new vinyl recordings from original analog source or are they just copying digital onto vinyl. If there are both out there what do I look for to tell the difference before I buy

@randym860 - there are a lot of good turntables in your price range; I've got a Technics SL-1200G that's right in there and I've been very happy with it....

I recently got back to vinyl and have been buying a lot of new records. Most of the are 180g, some are 45RMP and UHQR. They are as good as it gets for re-issue albums. I m spending more time listening to Vinyls CD/SACD nowadays.

Late to the party, but I did want to share :

I just bought a bunch of Diana Krall 45 RPM LPs. The first one that I listened to was  "Live in Paris". I was deeply disappointed. The album sounds so much better in the standard 33 rpm fromat. The 45 rpm pressing is overly bright and analytical.

Dire Straits "Brothers in Arms" 45 RPM  version does sound superb compared to the standard format.

Not sure how to distinguish a good 45 RPM LP from a not so good one. Clearly every 45 RPM, 180 grams LP is not necessarily better sounding.
