Well this link will start many arguments! Is this the five minute argument?
Your favorite obscure song @jsalerno277 - thanks for that; I hadn't noticed the Greatest Hits Live part!
Why hasnt a turntable manufacturer produced a table with automatic tonearm return/shutoff? @analog_tiffer - Ah! I see what you mean. I had a Dual 1019 in the 80's until I let it go when CD's came in and alas, I had no turntable at all during the 90's....
Your favorite obscure song @jsalerno277 - you realize that Duane Allman is playing guitar on 'Loan Me A Dime', no?
DAC experiences? I don't know the PS Audio unit, but I've had a few Chord devices, including DAVE, and I found all of them to be too dry and clinical in my system for my taste and went with an R2R DAC, in my case a Holo May KTE; other people love Chord gear.
Why hasnt a turntable manufacturer produced a table with automatic tonearm return/shutoff? @analog_tiffer - Not sure about that 'staple' - Auto-return is not a feature on my Japanese-made Technics SL-1200G.
Why hasnt a turntable manufacturer produced a table with automatic tonearm return/shutoff? @pryso - Tone controls have come back relatively recently; you see them on quite a few newer, very expensive, high end preamps and integrateds, and they can be completely removed from the circuitry if they're not to be used. Why hasnt a turntable manufacturer produced a table with automatic tonearm return/shutoff? Personally, I prefer to have as few things in my turntable that can vibrate and adversely affect the sound - I also remove the dust cover when playing records - plus, if it was a big deal for me to have automatic turnoff and return, I'd listen to...
Your favorite obscure song @whart - agree about Patto and Ollie for sure. And indeed, one person's 'obscure' might be another person's 'very familiar with for ages'. All interesting nonetheless.
Your favorite obscure song @thecarpathian - I hear you on Roads to Moscow; first Al Stewart I ever heard, and the voice, the lyrics, and that haunting melody - just superb. @winoguy17 - Don't Ask Me Questions is awesome; I remember when that first came out; been a GP fan f...
Wasted Years. @sns + 1 | |
Who is your favorite tube seller? I've been going to one guy for tube advice and sales since I started doing this - Brent Jessee. I heard about him from others, and I trust his advice and you know the tubes are legit. If there's a problem, he'll get it sorted with a replacement or...
My New System @buellrider97 @cueball9 - I was at that LZ show at Oakland Stadium (though I actually preferred the Page and Plant shows they did later), and went to a whole lot of DOG's during the 70's....
John Fogerty Legacy Album @johnto - the money is in the publishing, and John doesn't have to share that with anybody else as he's the one who wrote all those songs.
Where were you when you first heard ""Born To Run"? @foggyus91 - wow, thanks for hipping me to that - I always like to learn something new every day. It was a pretty cool 'urban legend', though. |
