Speaker Wire question

I was given a free pair of Tara Lab speaker wires Model Prism Klara.
I tried these on my Klipsch Heresy 1 speakers and to my surprise, they sounded as good as my Audioquest Gibraltar speaker wires.
Even though the Tara Lab wires are entry level, they sound so good. Why is that?
Also these wires were made in China in 1998 and have been discontinued.
Any opinions ?

I bought the Q Audio TimeStream because: 1) it was really cheap ($25/50 ft) and 2) fancy twisted-braid multi-strand design (I liked the appearance!). Sounds excellent - I can't complain!
You can't (or, at least, shouldn't) judge the quality of a new component after a brief audition. You are probably going to get 90% of what all wire will give you. It usually takes months of listening for me to appreciate the changes the new component brings to the table. An exception was using Harmonic Technology Pro-9 speaker wire with a 19 watt tube amp. Sound was terrible -dull, muffled, rolled top-end. Switched to Nordost Blue Heaven and got a night-and-day difference. All was well.
P.S. I love Harmonic Tech wire with high-powered solid-state amps.
