Thorens TD316/Rega Super Bias combo

Let me beging with I haven't fooled with turntable decks for two decades, so please understand as this may be a dumb question. I bought and refurbed with great TLC a Thorens TD316. Decided after some research to fit it up with a Rega Super Bias MM cartridge. However, the tonearm head won't clear the platter with the cartridge installed straight up. What's the fix tone arm spacers or cartridge spacers?
