its really a quality piece, but sounds its best(amooth and detailed) only when used with the matching passive preamp......that is why its really never caught on.

If you are still interested, I have a excellent condition DAX Decade for sale. It has been upgraded with Black Gates. It has the original box, manual etc..

It is superb, and I prefered to even the Wadias and Thetas I have heard, but I am not using enough to warrant it, I am still an analog nut.
