The Simplex does have the power toggle on the back, mounted with the rest of the electronics, but I believe the rest of the models have it upfront. I'm sure you could rewire an external toggle somewhere else, but perhaps you can look into whether the external DPS might have an on/off switch instead.

I'm not sure I get the new Well Tempered decks. The older versions seemed to have better adjustability and an isolated motor.
As to the VPI for a couple of hundred dollar more I'd rather have the three speed Clearaudio Performance with magnetic bearings.
