Hana SL (Shibata low-output). A lot more affordable than a Dynavector mc!
Well Tempered Amadeus MK1 - What cartridge would you recommend
I'm considering purchasing a Well Tempered Amadeus MK1 and looking to hear from those with this table as to what is a good neutral cartridge. I lean more to warmth than clinically accurate.
Dynavector has been suggested. Generically I've been hearing Hana is a solid choice and perhaps a bit more forgiving of imperfect vinyl when compared to the Dyna 20X2L
Suggestions?

Dynavector KARAT series is superior technology and much smarter design than Hana (from Excel Sound). Short Ruby or even shorter Diamond cantilever with Micro Ridge (they call it Micro Reach) is better than anything you can get from Hana. Also WT recommend Dyna, why do you think Hana is better? Just because it’s mainstream LOMC now? Dynavector is excellent MC cartridge, i tried DV23RS , DV17Ds and now got DV17D2 mk2 |
My dynavector cartridges are all have higher compliance than most of the MC cartridges on the market. I have no idea bout WT tonearm effective mass but this is the reason Dyna was recommended to match well with this arm. Regarding Grace i would like to recommend 80's Grace LEVEL II Ruby, this model is much better than older F9 from the 70's. I want to admit that LineContact Ruby is modern SoundSmith version, not the original Grace. This is original Grace Ruby for LEVEL II and it's an excellent stylus, but later LEVEL II styli with Beryllium cantilevers are so much better (unfortunately very rare). |
