Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO

REM has a history in N C. Mitch Easter had much to do with REM first two lps.

His recording studio is in Kernersvile,...

There has to be a common thread (guitar) involved with these four, just don’t ask what it is…

  1. Doc Powell – The Doctor (VTL label, OOP)
  2. Nils Lofgren – Acoustic Live (Boy, do I wish I was at this one.)
  3. David Lindley and El Rayo-X - Win This Record (hard-to-find import)
  4. Luiz Bonfa – Softly… (supremely underrated artist, mono recording on Epic)

Don’t listen to this much. Dunno, I think the overall SQ is lacking. But, giving it another shot today as I rummage through my shelves.

Yep, familiar with the N.C. connection. I’m lucky to have that and  Life’s Rich Pageant on vinyl from ‘back in the day’. Both still in incredible condition. The older R.E.M. was the best, to me.
