Thx spiritofradio! My copy of Jail Break is VG+(vinyl) a garage sale find. Had to toss the damaged moldy jacket. The vinyl was just scuffed no real damage just a cloudy finish even after a spin on my Nitty Gritty. Not a bad sounding recording(4.2) but a near mint original copy could raise it to another level.
@dayglow Jailbreak CD was on the system (decent actually for a record store- why are they usually so bad? Don’t they realize that they would sell more records if the sound in their stores was better?) at my favorite LRS evening before last (scored the Tucky Buzzard Box Set) so had to play it after we got home. The CD must have been remastered because it didn’t sound like my record at all. Way more midrange forward and far less grunt and growl. Less bite on the lead solos. It was still sweet to hear it in public like that though and sweeter still to crank it up back on the home horns. My copy is from high school days but is in surprisingly great shape.

you know, there are statues of Phil Lynnot in Ireland.  I’ve never been there but my rocker brother has sent me photos.
My yellow vinyl copy of Montrose just showed up today. So did my Herron Audio VTSP- 360 pre-amp. Sounds amazing!
