Brian, I'd recommend Phantom Like: Northern Gothic, Poison in the Russian Room, or If You Knew What I Dreamed to get started, and if you like any or all of those, start exploring. They've been around for 35 years or so, so it is indeed a pretty extensive catalog.

Thank you for the good tip on The Motels first album.  I bought a M- copy on Discogs and now my Motels collection is complete.  I have had the other two albums since each were released.  They are both wonderful, musically and sonically.  I look forward to this first release being every bit as good.
