Where does your user name come from?

Hi everyone,
I'm curious to know what's the story behind your user name (or Alias)... There are a bunch of people that use their name (of parts of it) like myself, Albert Porter, GerryM5, Esoler...

But where does user name like Cornfedboy, Garfish, Calloway, Tireguy, SwampWalker (and many many others) come from? Any story behind?

Just curious

I chose mine to honor my dear old dad, Ernest Money Lay, may he rest in peace. My grandparents named him Money in hopes he might someday be rich.

He and my mom managed to raise (7) children on a poor coal miner's salary, in a home rich in the love of God and family. In 1959, we moved to Milford, OH, where we fared much better. He retired as the custodian and nightwatchman of a local dept. store. He passed away 12/92, from black lung and alzheimer's disease.

No, Dad never made a million, nor have I. However, Dad's love of family and the moral values he preached are priceless to me. Before the alzheimer's disease took full hold, he sometimes chuckled with pride and satisfaction, for he knew he had succeeded and would die a "rich man."

Also, but to a much lesser degree, my mom got me started in the hobby of coin collecting. Therefore, coin collecting plays into my username as well.

I probably know as much about the entire history of U.S. coinage as Sean knows about audio. Lately, I have been purging trivial coin history from my memory banks to make more room for Sean's audio wisdom. ;^)

Regards,
Daniel Joseph Lay
Ernest, great story about your dad. Those kind of people seem in short supply these days. Your fortunate to have had him for a father and to honor his name and memory.

Thank you for sharing with us.
