Take the top off and have a look. The drive may be dry. Many have a cog/sprocket type wheel that accumulates dust and grime. It needs to be cleaned. Add light oil to the cog and replace. Try blowing compressed air and aim at the sides of the tray not down the middle. If a belt drive try removing the belt and treat with talcum powder to make it smooth as it travels around the capstan. Pay attention to where everything is located before you remove any parts.
