Wireless Rear Surround Architecture Troubleshooting
I have the following set up for wireless Surround + Sub in a 5.1 setup.
Gear:
-
NERO WRSKII 2x50W 5.8 GHz 2.1 Wireless Rear Surround Transmitter/Receiver Amplifier with Sub Out
-
Power Output: 50W x 2 @ 4 Ohms
-
No rating I can find at 8 Ohms
-
-
Freq Response: Subwoofer 20Hz-200Hz
-
Freq Response: Speakers 20Hz-20kHz
-
-
KEF T101 Satellite Speakers
-
Amplifier Requirements: 10 - 100W
-
Impedance: 8 Ohms
-
Freq Response: 80Hz - 30kHz
-
Sensitivity: 90dB (wall mount)
-
Maximum Output: 107dB (SPL)
-
-
Klipsch RP-1400SW Subwoofer
-
Freq Response: 16Hz - 141 Hz +/- 3dB
-
I have intermittent popping sounds that I am having trouble isolating (not reproducible to certain scenes / frequencies or loudness). For now I'm checking cable terminations and have adjusted the Surround crossover as high as my receiver allows (180Hz) w/ a little improvement.
My questions:
-
Assume I'm losing < 20Hz Subwoofer signals due to limited frequency response on the transmitter
-
Assume I'm losing > 20KHz Surround signals due to limited frequency response on the transmitter
-
Is the amp underpowered? The distance from the main listening position to the Surrounds is only ~1.5M.
-
What volume setting should I put the Nero on? Currently in middle position. Should I put it closer to max and then recalibrate via Audyssey in my AVR?
-
If wireless issue, how would I diagnose? I do NOT have line of sight to the receiver, but it is < 20 feet behind one wall.
