You went from Harbeth P3's to Compact 7's, and...

As the title suggests, tell us how this change was, and if you no longer have Compact 7’s, what you have moved on to.
My scenario is I have sold the P3’s, and since doing so, my 2nd system has been down. It’s an analog based system with a Croft phono integrated. As much as I like the Croft, I would like to have the option to go full tube...something like a Cary SLI 80 for example. It’s because of this that I’m also thinking smaller floor stander  like Spendor or ProAc, the latter an often used match with the Cary. The Spendor "A" series for example has higher efficiency than C7, and I believe are 8 Ohm, compared to the C7's rated 6 Ohm.

I can't imagine getting rid of my P3ESRs!  I have them in my small computer room and they sound better than anything else I've had in here, ranging from Klipsch Heresy to Canton Vento 9.2 DC, to Focal 1008 BE and a few others.  I have a small subwoofer to add some bottom end and in terms of detail and sound quality, this is the best system I have.

I have Harbeth Super HL5 Plus in my main system.  It's a much bigger room where I listen at higher volumes.  The Super HL5 Plus are more dynamic and up to that task.
Had C-7s for many years—loved them. Went to Daedalus and never looked back. They do everything the Harbeths do but better—scale, dynamics, detail. Check out the Muse Studio for a small floorstander that will fill the room!
I want something a little more convincing with hard rock ( Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, The Band, Tom Petty...) than the P3’s were. Not a great Rock speaker in an absolute sense because I’m looking to stay small, but again, more capable than the P3’s. I also would like to stay around $2500 used, so a smaller "A" series Spendor could be the one. I even thought about Vandersteen 2 CE Sig II's, but I don’t want to bother with bi-wiring, and no provision for Banana Plugs. I want to use my A23 (banana terminated) SC, and plug them right in. I hate to admit it, but resale is also a factor. So not to cloud the waters, I could see going larger, but do want to stay in the $2500 range.

Yogiboy what did you not like about the p3 anniversary model?  I've never heard the regular p3s so I have nothing to compare them with.
