Toggle switch cleaning?

I have a preamp with a toggle switch for changing phase. Sometimes I lose the left channel on switching. Is this something that can be cleaned at home, simply and safely? Or can this be worn out? Thanks. Pete

I would use some DEOXIT electrical contact spray. Its easy to buy a can and clean the switch yourself. Regards,

Matt
The cleaners I use for the volume controls and switches in my vintage Accuphase gear are:

MG Chemicals 409B-340G Electrosolve Zero Residue Contact Cleaner - 12 Oz

MG Chemicals 404B-340G Contact Cleaner with Lubrication Silicones - 340 Grams

If Deoxit is readily available to you go for that as well.
Thanks guys. How do I use the air or cleaners? From the front of the switch?
You just spray the switch in both positions, and work it up and down several times, that should help it a lot.
