Power Amp Tweaking

I've experienced the opposite effect to those above, in that I've found that I prefer coupling instead of isolation. This has been my preference with both solidstate and tube equipment. The bottomline is that both approaches will effect the sound. Only you can determine which you find to be most beneficial in your system with your sonic tastes. Good luck.

Ventilation might be something you need to address. It does need proper airflow for cooling.

I use a solid granite slab with stiff ceramic cones underneath, which really has worked great with both my SS and tube gear. I prefer cones over sorbo personally because they will "drain" as well as isolate. I usually go with something that people have researched for years, and done scientific measurements. Cones are one of those items, along with ceramics...
I think a platform will definetley be better than directly on the floor.
