What causes phase shifts...Sean?

Sean- Since phase shift (time delay) plays havoc with the harmonics of a fundamental note, a better question might be, what does NOT cause shift. Answer- Speakers with first order crossovers (e.g., Vandersteen, Thiel, Meadowlark...) and DSD (SACD) coding / encoding. That's all you need to know IMHO.

...or speakers with NO crossovers, like dipoles, but being dipoles alas, they open up another can of worms....

Can of worms? Ok: Why would anyone put magnets or ferrous (magnetic) material in a power cord? Bob Crump got me to thinking about how ridiculous such construction is, so I wonder what what proposed inductive manipulation is at work here, and why on earth would anyone consider it beneficial?
