Magnepan anything new on the horizon?

The 1.6 has been around a long time. As good as it is it is getting a bit long in the tooth.

Has there been any word on a replacement for this classic? Would love for them just to make it push-pull.

The 3.6, too. It's been around for ten years! I admire such longevity, but isn't it also due for an upgrade?
Magnepan had one of the most impressive demos at CES/The Show this past year with their new tiny panels, which were supplemented by a woofer cabinet. These are small, lightweight panels about a foot in height. The demo was blind and the audience sat in front of a sheer curtain with darkness on the other side where the speakers were. I'm sure no one expected the source of the very convincing presentation to be those tiny panels that were revealed, after playing various cuts of music, by turning on the lights on the other side of the curtain. You should be able to find some further input online, in the rags, and perhaps here in the forums on that demo. Not a replacement for the 1.6, but definitely new and different.
Yes, I saw that Magnepan panel/woofer demo at a high end store mfr's open house in Feb. Verrrry impressive. I wish Magneplanar would get those panels and that wonderful separate woofer productized, priced, and distributed.

With the right price, those panels could revolutionize the way we listen to music, and bring high performance and WAF together once and for all.
You might want to check out the planar asylum. They try to stay up to date with Magnepan.
