Dick's / Dave's picks

The Daves Picks that have been coming out are not well mastered in my opinion.  They are very dark and just not EQ'd like Dead music should be.  When you compare the quality to the earlier Dicks Picks, it is quite a difference.  I was being lambasted for that opinion on Hoffman forums but it's very easy to hear if you have a good system.  

Do not feel bad- joker. The SH forums is very informative, yet, operated by communists as well.

In the Dick's series, he was a true professional recording engineer by trade.
Dave's offerings are more in the way of fanfare recordings. Not bad, different.

LAte to the Party... but the Dave's picks releases are using technology to "retrieve" better sound quality than was available during the Dick's Picks era.

maybe they will re-release some selected shows from the Dick's Picks releases...

there are also some ownership issues around some recordings, e.g. Bear's Choice, IIRC

Yep, do many hands in the GD machine. Our hope is that all disputes can be settled and let the music play!
