Which Floor standing speakers with the NAD C356 Int. Amplifier

Hi to everyone,
First of all, thank you for taking your time reading this post.
I have very modest electronics (NAD C356 Int. Amplifier, OPPO BDP93 DVD/CD Player, Monitor Audio Silver S2 speakers). The sound is so so, of course a lack of details and no full range of the sound since S2 are bookshelf speakers. So I am looking for the floor standing speakers that go down to 38Hz-40Hz. My room is 17' x 11.5' x 9'
The speakers would go along with the long wall and not more then 15 Inches from the rear wall. Listening distance is 8.5'. I am listening everything, from uptempo jazz to the dance music. The budget is $3000.00.
So in your opinion, which speakers would have good synergy with the NAD given the size of the room.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

djengan,

You have some great gear. Lots of great speakers out there. The Monitor Audio Silver 8, Bowers and Wilkins 683 S2 and Golden Ear Triton 7 or 5 would be some I would suggest. All fantastic speakers.

Cheers,

Scott
Somehow I got used to the NAD sound. Of course there are tons of the better sounding amplifiers but the NAD is safer option. I had Simaudio Neo 250; Arcam A19; MF M3si and all of them had different sound signature but
the lack of highs was common. The worst was Simaudio.

generally one wants to get the best speakers possible and have an amp that can drive them w/o clipping (damping factor is usually not an issue these days, but if the speakers need a lot of current at some low impedance in the freq. range the amp must deliver)

beyond that you get into things like crossover distortion etc.

nad is well regarded ( I have a 2100 in my bedroom system) and yours is rated at 80W pc into both 8 and 4 ohms, so you need to look at each speaker for efficiency and your desired SPL, and then examine the impedance curve vs. freq.

once you have a few selected, hook them up and listen, recognizing that a new speaker will sound tight and restricted (if a voice coil design) until broken in
