Digital cable length- SPDIF vs AES/EBU- 1.5 meter for either?

Some have postulated, with Steve Nugent at the forefront, that a digital cable between source and DAC should be 1.5 meters. The articles I've read nominally speak of 75 ohm SPDIF cables. Does the same length reccomendation hold true for a 110 ohm AES/EBU cable?

Thanks for your post jl35 . Nice to know I'm not the only one .
In my system the difference is NOT subtle ! Might be a function of living
in a condo where the whole place is on same wires, but lot of people are in that situation ,
I'm in a house, in a small town, but for "really serious listening" I unplug TV, DVD and internet, and the difference is also not subtle...
I too have noticed this phenomenon, when I lived in my apartment.  The differences were NOT subtle. All the electronics, including my alarm system and wifi were all on the same branch.

In my new home, I don't have a dedicated line perse, but nothing extraneous is shared on the electrical branch, which I think is a good thing.  I haven't gone to see if unplugging the modem and wifi downstairs on a different circuit will make a difference in the house yet. But you are not alone.  It was almost mandatory for serious listening in my apt.

Sorry, just saw this thread. Are you all saying any coax digital cable that is not 1.5m long should be tossed out? Why are they even manufacturing cables that are in different (from 1.5m) lengths?
