Where do I find the value of vintage audio equipment and best way to sell
This is my first time posting information regarding vintage home audio, so I hope I am in the right place.
My father was a vet and while overseas during Vietnam he purchased audio equipment. I am trying to determine the value of the equipment and find the best way to sell them. I have all of the original purchase receipts, warranty certificates, and shipping records (both from the Japanese company shipping and the pick up once stateside). I had them professionally cleaned a couple of years ago and they are in great shape.
He purchased the following:
Akai 1800D-ss Reel to Reel with 8 track and recording microphones
Dual 1229 turntable with retractable wood encasement
Sansui QR-6500 Receiver
2 sets of Pioneer CS-99A speakers

... and even more comprehensive listings can be accessed via hifishark.com (look at the sold/expired listings tab) https://www.hifishark.com/model/dual-1229 https://www.hifishark.com/search?q=Akai+1800d https://www.hifishark.com/model/sansui-qr-6500 https://www.hifishark.com/model/pioneer-cs-99-a |
First of all ignore "ebm’s" worthless advise. 1. Akai 1800D $75 - $100 maybe more if you find the right buyer 2. Dual 1229 $114 - $455 depending on cartridge -- eBay sold listings 3. Sansui QR-6500 $275 - $300 -- eBay sold listings 4. Pioneer CS-99A $475 - $1148 a pair -- eBay sold listings I would take good photos of the gear and put them on your local Craigslist at a slightly reduced price if you don’t want to deal with shipping. |
