Whats playing on your system today?

reubent, what’s LRS? (I’m guessing something Record Store). Did you get This Sweet Old World on LP or CD? Some people mean LP when they say record, some don't! Amazon sells the CD for about $12, the LP for $25. I just ordered a bunch of CD’s from them, some for REALLY cheap, under ten bucks.

I saw your assessment on another thread of This Sweet Old World. I had already ordered it so I hope I'll like it better than you. I've never heard SOW so, I may have another take on it.....I can only hope. At the least, it will help me become closer to a completest with Lucinda's lps.

I bought the vinyl LP. It is a double record on pink vinyl. The first 3 sides are the re-recording of "Sweet Old World" and side 4 is bonus tracks. The record sounds good. I just don't like the new versions of the songs compared to the originals. I especially don't like what she did to "He Never Got Enough Love" for which the lyrics are changed and it is now called "Drivin' Down a Dead End Street". So, the record is not thin sounding, like my original CD. But I don't like what they did to it. Nope, not one bit........

I wish they would have just re-mastered it (if possible) to make the original sound a bit fuller.

@slaw - It will be interesting to hear your take on "This Sweet Old World" since you are not familiar with the original. Are you going to also buy, or listen to, the original for reference? Before or after?
