Meldhau, Raitt

2 new albums that help make the audiophile life worthwhile: Brad Mehldau's "Ode", and Bonnie Raitt's "Slipstream". Brad sounds better than ever...nice cymbal tone and great balance on cool tunes, and Bonnie, well Bonnie is a national treasure at this point and even uses a fave of mine, Bill Frisell.

Although I am a great fan of Bonnie, I only bought this a year ago. Around the same time I downloaded her iTunes original album
iTunes Originals: Bonnie Raitt

Highly recommended! "I can't Make You Love Me" has to be my all time favorite Raitt song. Get it while you can.

Bonnie Raitt is a national treasure, and I'm seeing Brad's trio this weekend (saw Brad do his "Bach with Improvisations" solo thing last year…one of the best left hands in jazz).
