Audio as a weapon

Producing the frequency that a glass resonates with... given enough volume... will cause the glass to shatter. 

Guess what.  Human flesh also has a resonance point. Its a lower frequency too.

A number of decades ago,  the military experimented with subsonics as a weapon. As I recall, the idea was arrived at after reports that some elderly people were losing control of their bowels at high end theaters that were using super massive subwoofers, pumping out high volume subsonics.  The idea was to use this technology as a source of crowd control. The idea was dropped, not because it was totally ineffective, but because the subsonics could not be aimed.  Those deploying the weapon were equally as affected as the targets.  What a crappy outcome, eh.  You tax dollars at work.

Hey, win some, lose some. The Navy’s program to make a weapon out of a Frisbee didn’t work out either. I guess that’s the breaks. 

But laser pointers work well against cat attacks, so there’s that.

So take one with you when you go out on safari on the Serengeti.  No, really. Would I lie to you?

Squirrels work well against some humans, too.

Well, I just can't pontificate as well as some, and I'm glad not to be so caught up in such. 
To the OP, there are lots of ways that sonic stuff can affect humans. It's only "news" on a slow news day.
