Problem with Primare I32 Amp
I recently bought a Primare I32 integrated amp from an Audiogon seller. It worked great for a few months, but now I cannot get it to produce any sound at all.
The warm-up sequence of the amp is normal, and I have checked everything I can think of from cables to source and nothing works.
I had been listening to it last night without any issues but this morning when I went to listen to some music the sound was silent.
Anyone have suggestions for me? I did send emails to Primare and their U.S. distributor so hopefully I will hear back soon.
Thanks!

1) Always turn the power off at the back of the amp before plugging/unplugging anything on the unit. 2) When the thing acts up, turn it off at the back and unplug it from the outlet and let it sit for a while. This has fixed everything for me. If I run into anything that won't resolve my next step is Randy Vikan at Audio Elite. He has a great reputation. As far as switching to a Sansui, I think my ears would puke. I mean that in the nicest way possible. |
Hey Snackeyp, what has become of your I32? I have several primare components and always curious to know solutions for any problems that might occur. And what about your SP31, islandmandan? I have two of those...very good DAC, but they have problems in their digital side of things, I was told from primare they need new capacitors in the digital board, but is not that easy or cheap to have this fixed arround where I live. Why did you have to have yours rebuilt??I was also very confused when changing the settings, because I wasn't waiting enough seconds for it to settle the changes before disconnecting from power...saw later in the manual. It gets hot this thing! Cheers |
