I had a Parasound Halo Integrated for 1 1/2 years in my secondary system. Although it was a good Integrated, there was a very fine grain to the sound that bothered me over the long haul. I upgraded to a McIntosh Integrated (used) and am ecstatic. I have had the Mac amp for a little over a year with no desire to change. Not sure how they would mate with the Apogees.
the beter choice difference?
Drawing close to retirement and listen to a lot of rock, alt rock music. IF I were to change something in my system what would be the best benefit to increase the inner detail and expand the sound scape? I currently use a Classe Cap 151 w/ ARC CD3 Mk 2 thru Apogee Slant 6 speakers. Also have 6 Room Tune panels and 4 corner tunes and use after mkt power cords and Huffman SX Balanced IC. IF I were to change what would be the best cost effective way to do this; IC & or power cord(s) or different integrated? I only have thought of Parasound Halo int (at this point) or waiting on an ARC Dsi 200 . Only thinking pre enjoyed (can't afford new) what ever choice would stay SS. ICs or PCs have no clue. is there suggestions as to the possible best route to consider? Thanks in advance.
