I went to the local HiFi store that carries Sonus Faber with a view to listening to the Venere 2.5 or 3.0 and was told “we only carry the Olympica and up” and that the Veneres are effectively discontinued and a new made in Italy range at a similar (but higher) price point will be announced in two months.
Don't they still have the Chameleon and Principia lines below the Venere? Their parent company also owns Sumiko subwoofers from what I can tell, and you don't hear much about those, so perhaps adding subs to the Sonus Faber line, which at least has more name recognition, is a smart move.
Yes they have been discontinued, which is why I picked up my Signature pair a few months ago as they were discounted to clear the "shelf". You can still find some used ones on here or if you Google them. I thought the new line coming out was supposed to be basically a redesign but still fall in the same price range though.
