Isolated Ground causes ground hum.

One major thing I've learned over the years of reading the Audiogon Forums is you never can go wrong following the advice of jea48, gs556 and several others that I have not mentioned. Thank you to all those prefessionals...

Isn't the purpose of that grounding lug as a place to ground your turntable or phono preamp?  I assume the chassis of the preamp is already grounded.
