Budget DVD Player Recommendation

From personal experience,can any of you recommend a DVD player ($200-250),new or used, that has 2 channel audio that is as good as a CD player of similar price ?

The newer 1940ci (as well as the 1930ci) got amazing reviews in the European hi-fi mags. This $400 DVD player (w/ DCDi by Faroudja) is available on Amazon for $127
