Do any of your Rolling Stones recordings bring "Satisfaction"?

Before I became a snobby audiophile I loved the Rolling Stones.  But as my system grew and I discovered all kinds of sounds in recordings (CD as well as Vinyl) that I had never heard before and the openness and depth of soundstage that was a wonder, I never had that same Wow moment with the Stones recordings.  Actually the best sound I have found came from the Hot Rocks double LP.  Has anyone else had a better experience with their recordings?  Having gone through so many remasters, nothing seems to have changed.  Sticky Fingers should be something better than we get.  The opening riff of Brown Sugar has always seemed so muddy.  My rant, any thoughts?

I own all of the 80's U.S. and U.K. Cds. I also own the 1994 Virgin remasters (limited catalog titles) that sound very good. Finally, I own the 2002 SACD catalog. As above, the DSD CD titles are reported as being well done. Purists will say that original U.K. and Japan LP pressings are the way to go. There probably is not a  right/wrong way to enjoy The Rolling Stones. I can vouch for the 94 re-masters as well as the 2002 SACD titles. Then, there are the re - re-masters on SHM- CD and SHM-SACD discs...

I think the 2002 discs are better in clarity and dynamics especially on a SACD player. 12x5, Get your Ya Ya's , Hot Rocks 1 and Let it Bleed are outstanding. Another +vote for "Midnight Rambler". Play it LOUD!

Happy Listening!

Hi Mike, love "let it bleed"!

I wouldn't put too much stock in a dealer system that obviously wasn't in tune to the recording.

Let It Bleed is a great recording and I hope you get to hear it in all of it's glory soon. It's quite the experience.

Yep, I have an original pressing of Some Girls and it sounds great.

Cannot say the same for MOST of the reissues I've encountered. The originals are still the best.

"Hot Stampers "  really ? $700 for a common pressing that these guys think is the best sounding?
