The Science of Cables

It seems to me that there is too little scientific, objective evidence for why cables sound the way they do. When I see discussions on cables, physical attributes are discussed; things like shielding, gauge, material, geometry, etc. and rarely are things like resistance, impedance, inductance, capacitance, etc. Why is this? Why aren’t cables discussed in terms of physical measurements very often?

Seems to me like that would increase the customer base. I know several “objectivist” that won’t accept any of your claims unless you have measurements and blind tests. If there were measurements that correlated to what you hear, I think more people would be interested in cables.

I know cables are often system dependent but there are still many generalizations that can be made.

Teo and Bo sound a bit off...as in slightly psychotic maybe?"

I am a former customer of Bo's and can tell you that he has ego, identity, and intelligence issues he is full of conviction that He and He alone can specify, design, and assemble a true "Tru-Fi" high end Music Reproduction System but when showed that he had overlooked ICSS distortion he flew in to a fit of nearly blind rage and drifted into another state that was ugly, threatening, and violent I would never stop into his shop again but he is worthy of our pity he is upset, disturbed, and in need of serious help as is evident from his rambling, incoherent, senseless posts he is probably a schizophrenic.

characteristics like solid long grain copper
Would it have similar properties to long grain rice, do you think?

The Audioquest Redwood uses about 30% silver. And the Wild even uses 50% silver. The William Tell only uses pure copper. So most people would assume that the Wild and Redwood will created more details in the high frequencies.

But.....the thing is that the William Tell is even beter in resolution. I never auditioned any copper cable from Audioquest what could reveal more resolution in the high frequencies. So a new technique can even make huge steps in resolution even when only copper is being used.
