Zu Omen or Tekton Lore

Best floorstanders under $999 for low power SET amp?

Thanks
mstark
Affordable amp that I am going to try. Next time I go see Eric I am going to take my Dayton DTA-100 T-amp. If was $50 as a scratch and dent. What a bargin. Sold out though. I should have bought 2. I also have a the original my sonic impact. The DTA definatley has more oomf!

I am wondering how the pendragons or lores will sound with the cost effective t-amp. I'll post my thoughts once I hear them hooked to the pendragons or lores.
Morganc - since you've heard the Zu offerings, it will be interesting to get your take on the lore!
I use a 2A3 SET (DIY), works well. I used it with Omens, and with Lores and Katz Meows.
And yes - Looking forward to hearing your impressions of the Lore Morganc. You have Omen Defs, correct?
Yes I have the Omen Defs and I found a local pair of Lores for a good price, so why not compare the two? Currently I am using a Decware mini tori and a Coincident Frankenstein with the Omen Defs. They both are fantastic, though the Frankenstein is the best amp I have owned, as well it should for the $$$:). Now I have taken my system to its peak (and it does sound great, but I am frustrated living in an apartment as I cannot really enjoy the fruits of my labor at the volumes I like). To get here, I spent much more $$$ than I should have spent and I need to downsize so that I can afford a downpayment soon. Then I will have a house, and can build another great system:). So, now my focus is on the best system I can
build for $3000. Wish me luck!

So far I am thinking the Lores, with the mini torii will be great and fit perfectly in my budget along with my Tranquility SE DAC and my Mac Mini.....I'll let you all know how they compare.
Morganc - Wow, that is just fantastic! When do you take delivery on the Lores? And your not alone... while I have plenty of "room" to crank, 2 small children at home make it almost non existant, So it's more important to have a speaker that can do it all at lower volumes as well.

Let's stay in touch... I have my 2nd pair of P-dragons on order, but this time I am going to be more strategic about placement and amps/cables selection. I didn't do the best job of that in the first go around. But this has turned out to be a blessing. The first pair I had was front ported, which I figured would work better in a smaller room, but while it resulted in an est. +3db gain on the low end, it also overloaded the room just a tad. We'll see what the rear ports do - Eric recommended the rear ports plus he has inventory already CNC pre cut. I have enough room to get them about 3-4FT from the back wall so that should be a non inssue.
