R.I.P: Rest In Peace Roy Johnson, Green Mountain Audio's Genius

All,

It is with heavy heart that I bring to you the heart breaking news of the passing of one of audio's true geniuses. Roy Johnson passed away this week after a long battle with cancer. He was a truly brilliant speaker designer, and true friend, and an amazing person. For those of us lucky to have known him as customers or friends we know he was infinitely committed to lending a hand, imparting his wisdom, solving problems and creating some of the most amazing loud speakers ever heard.  There were often gremlins in my system not centered around his loudspeakers and Roy would literally drop everything and help me trace down problems, while all the time educating and teaching me, not for gain, not for money, but because that's who Roy Johnson was.

He will be greatly missed for his humor, his dedication, and his selflessness in audio and in life.

Rest in Peace Dear Friend,

you are right lets just turn a blind eye to all those innocent people who have according to some reports lost a lot of money or been betrayed.
@kenjit
I am one of those people. After lengthy conversations with Roy over the last couple of years, it became obvious that I was going to have to be lucky to get them.The whole thing was a version of go fund me. I paid for speakers more than 4 years ago. I know I will never get them. There was nothing to get from him then, and there is nothing left to get now. Period. Like @silveraudio, I have said enough about how things went down, but I am resigned to the fact I will never get money back. Time to let it go, because life is too short.

I dont know the reasons green mountain gave for being unable to ship your speakers but why has he kept your money if he cant supply the goods you paid for? Thats inexcusable
There is a lot more to the story than your over simplified view. I am not going into any more detail about it. Enough said.
Seems my point was missed.  Mr. Johnson will never respond wether true or not and sometimes the right thing to do has nothing to do with who is right. Carry on.
Grannyring, I respect your position and in fact do understand where you were coming from.  However, who really gets to determine “what is right” and “the right thing”?  It’s not like this is being done at his wake or a memorial service.  No one here knew Roy on a truly personal level.  It’s just a thread where people are sharing their thoughts and interactions they’ve had with him.
Maybe it would have seemed less “cold” and “thread-Jacky” if those who had poor interactions with Roy had posted their experiences way earlier in the thread?  I don’t know but sometimes difficult conversations need to be had.

Have a great weekend.
