Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
Tomic.
No disc is flat.
I took it round to a friend house to play on his system, he has Ayre amps but " normal" speakers by Spendor.

Track 2 certainly has a LOT of energy but was not shutting his amps down.

The EX8 is a great super integrated but it obviously cannot have the current reserves of say even another comparable 100wpc power amp . just not enough room to squeeze everything under the hood.

I am just chalking it up to the Maggie's which probably dipped down to 80db efficiency and 1 or 2 ohms with all that bass energy.
The poor old EX8 was just outgunned.
Upcoming..........

Amanda Shires "To The Sunset"
Son Volt "Notes of Blue"  my third copy...long story...
Son Volt "Union"
"To The Sunset" is a much better lp than I remembered....and I liked it before.
