The 5 stages of making a bad audio purchase

This is tongue in cheek people, so let’s keep the replies light shall we?
The 5 Stages of Making a Bad Audio Purchase:

1. Denial: "My system, which before was of course totally awesome, is now totally awesomer! The sound stage isn’t just 3 dimensional any more, it is 4 dimensional. I can feel fingers sliding across guitar strings, drums are like my head is against the snare, and the bass goes 10hz lower ...."

2. Anger: "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON’T BELIEVE MY SYSTEM WENT FROM AWESOME TO AWESOMER!!!. You obviously have a crap system, your ears are crap, you are just jealous."

3. Bargaining: "Hey, this gadget will make your already awesome system totally awesomer! 60% of MFR list is a great deal for it! That’s 40% off and you don’t even have to pay tax. I am only selling it because I am upgrading to the even awesomer version 2. My loss is your gain."

4. Depression: "I can’t believe I spent $5,000 on this thing ....."

5. Acceptance: "Sure, 75% off list is fair."

Yes, watch:
  • Who makes personal attacks.
  • Who does not address the contents of posts, but launches into tirades of a personal nature
  • Who has no skin in the game, no matter the outcome
  • Who is claiming to be a victim, and yet launches repeated personal attacks.

I see it the same way myself.

I read and see it as an overt attack, couched in terms of ’please excuse me, no harm is meant.’

When in fact, harm is definitely meant.

As all the other prior posts illustrate that harm is actually meant.

You are being gamed, people, by an obviously (and via their record of posts) -- problematic member
Well I am certainly glad I am not the only one here.
Thx Teo.

You forgot a point I am sure.......

Oh btw, you should be standing in front of a mirror when you read that.....
Question for the audience.

Does problematic mean that:
  • I don't agree with you.
  • I don't simply accept what you say as fact
  • I am not afraid to say the above, nor stand up for myself when attacked (repeatedly)
  • I have the education and experience to talk knowledgeably about why I don't agree with what you said or the facts you claim?

If you find this thread so "toxic", why did you feel a need to reply to it? You could have simply ignored it. You could have assumed that people who are here are adults and can make a similar choice for themselves.
