What CD Transports Provide the Most Detail?

Hi,

I recently purchased a used PS Audio PerfectWave transport that replaced an eight year old, Philips based, AudioSpace CD8 that I was using as a transport.

I was amazed about how much better my system sounded (Theta Pro Basic III DAC, CJ17LS2, McCormack DNA-500, and Thiel CS5's).

My assumption is that the PWT provided more detail that translated into a better presence and aliveness to the sound.

Can anyone share their experience after trading their PWT for some other transport?

Thanks for listening,

CEC TL-2 here also.  Best transport I've ever owned, (which has been a bunch).
My first impression of a CEC transport was listening to the TL2n bigger brother during a pick up of a online purchase of a unrelated item .
The following week I returned to the fellows home with some of my favourite disks and was enthralled with what I heard .
Though our systems were much different overall I much preferred what I heard . Long story short I convinced him to visited my home with his digital front end and that evening I put my 6 month old PS Audio memory player and dac senior up for sale.

Prat , music seemed to more engaging, blossom and flow with ease , with well recorded vocal’s and speaking voice I found to be more realistic sounding . Sound stage layering was larger on some recordings and much better presented .
The dual belt drives go a long way at reducing some of the inherent problems with direct drive mechanisms .

Coupled with a decent dac I’m sure this would be a leap forward .

mofimadness4,

Have you ever critically listened to any Esoteric transports and, if so, do you have an opinion about them?
