Between ... the large number of unsubstantiated claims and resulting personal attacks made and tolerated on this site these days (nothing new) I am seriously considering canceling my account once again.

This is a hobbyist's group, not a scientific group, so "unsubstantiated claims" here are to be expected. But I'm with you as to the personal attacks, and agree they should not be tolerated. It appears one such violator has recently been suspended from the group, so there are reasons to be hopeful.

Not only that but the claim that there’s a large number of unsubstantiated claims is itself unsubstantiated.
