Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO

OK guys, I did all of the pre-flight checks...

US cleaning
optimized anti-skate @SRA yesterday
Cleaned stylus
optimized speed with my Time-Line

just noticed lp (one) is ever-so-slightly dished though...to be remedied later...

I hope my excitement for "Fragile" is met.
Mini-review of "Fragile" MFSL UD1S 45rpm

To start, my only good reference is my EU/Atlantic pressing with the normal orange/white strip/ green label. Not the more prized plum/orange label.

Upon first listen to side one, nothing really jumped out at me. Having said this, nothing was wrong at all. ( You know how expectations can interfere with reality?)

Going forward, the music seems to just draw me in. I think this lp just gets incrementally better from start to finish. I think this is what early analog was all about: it has so much soul and frankly, soothes the soul. The louder the better.

There's much more "meat on the bones" here. I've read some negative members' comments and my feeling is they are too closely referring to the current state of recording quality. I feel sad that they cannot tell a difference. I have found that after listening to current recordings, it's good to go back in time to real analog recordings to get and keep a sense of "rightness".

Glad I bought it, own it!

Oh, and BTW, it's pressed on center!
Excellent review Slaw!

Not sure exactly what my copy of Fragile is besides pretty old and rather worn.
Still plays well to my ears though.

Right now.

Stratosfear .... Tangerine Dream.

With the Karat Ruby back in play.
Put on The Sadie's lp, from  last weekend again. The difference from going from a '70s analog recording to a current recording is striking!

This is what I'm trying to convey above....we all need a reality check every once in a while!
