John Cameron Fogerty (born May 28, 1945) is an American musician, singer, and songwriter. Together with Doug Clifford, Stu Cook, and his brother Tom Fogerty, he founded the band Creedence Clearwater Revival ("CCR"), for which he was the lead singer, lead guitarist and principal songwriter. The group had nine top-ten singles and eight gold albums between 1968 and 1972, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.[5]

After CCR parted ways in 1972, Fogerty has had a successful solo career[6] which continues to the present. He was listed on Rolling Stonemagazine's list of 100 Greatest songwriters (at number 40) and the list of 100 Greatest Singers (at number 72).[7] His songs include "Proud Mary", "Down on the Corner", "Centerfield", "Bad Moon Rising", "Green River", and "Fortunate Son".

As the War and Treaty, spouses Michael Trotter, Jr. and Tanya Blount make impassioned soul music that draws on traditional folk, country, and spirituals, often combining them all. Both powerful singers capable of the leading the church choir, they instead pair their voices with various combinations of acoustic folk instruments, organ, and pedal steel guitar. They made their recording debut in 2017 with the EP Down to the River.
