Ehernet cable question in streaming systems

I want to install a "better" ethernet cable  between my streamer and remote wireless Google pod (my stereo system is in the basement}.  My question is this:  Should I also get a better ethernet cable between my router and modem (up stairs in my office) at the same time?  My thinking is, when I  upgrade the cable to my streamer, shouldn't the cheap, Google supplied cable between the modem and hub router be replaced too?  Thanks, Jim

Hey, at least one person understands how digital music actually works. 🙄
The point @sailboat is making that data is only being supplied to the processing component.
Good cable runs are helpful, an example would be Shielded Cable.
suggest you check out Monoprice and CAT 8 or CAT 7 ethernet cables. They have good construction and most importantly shielding. You can "re-cable" all your connections for short money. If you don't like what you hear you aren't out much at all.

And that's why Supra CAT8 is being recommended. Separate shielding on each conductor.
Yes, it's data being transmitted.

"
sigh..... shame so many folks don't understand how digital music actually works."
Since you see to be a knowledgeable expert, authority, and possibly even another Audiogon visionary why don't you tell us how it works because as you might imagine some of us could be confused does digital use 1's and 0's or is it just an on and an off I have always wondered that myself and is it really perfect forever because forever is a long time!
